Road Trip Eve

Making my list and checking it twice...
  • car serviced
  • hair cut
  • found my Lincoln Highway travel books that have been put away since 2015 (that was a real feat)
  • car washed
  • Mom H.'s refrigerator stocked
  • pool filled
  • timers set
  • set up travel tablet with short cuts to maps, routes, travel info
  • refrigerator emptied (I've been doing that for the last week)
  • clothes washed and dried
As soon as I finish this, I'll pack.

Besides the Lincoln Highway route in the previous post, here's the entire trip route. I'm leaving for Georgia in the morning. I'll stay at Denise's Tuesday and Wednesday and then Debby and I will head out Thursday morning. We'll head for Omaha, Nebraska but we are going via Memphis instead of Nashville just to introduce some new scenery. Then for the next week, we'll travel about 900 miles east to Bucyrus, Ohio with such notable cities at Ames and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, outskirts of Chicago, South Bend and Fort Wayne, Indiana along the way. By the following Saturday evening, we'll drop down to Columbus, Ohio to Michael and Amy's place. Debby flies to Atlanta (and home) on Sunday, August 11th. I'll stay for a couple of days in Columbus and then drive home from there.

As much as possible (driveable), we'll follow the 1913 alignment of the Lincoln Highway, detouring to later alignments when the 1913 isn't available or has been replaced. For more info on the Lincoln Highway and alignments, visit the Lincoln Highway website and see the online map. If you click on the legend menu, you'll see the various alignments as they are color coded.
